The year is 1959. People are still recovering from the events of the Second World War. When a young married woman called Erica Clifton has her husband Dennis taken from her because of government secrets, she goes to a Private Detective named Clyde Bogart for help. She describes to Bogart about what she thinks happened to her husband about his clandestine work. She believes that husband is being held against his will at an abandoned mental asylum. As Erica is describing his disappearance, it cuts to her having a voice over over what was actually happening in the asylum.
Bogart is reluctant to go the asylum but honors their agreement and goes there anyway. he arrives, he sees that the place is abandoned. He breaks in and finds the horrors that lies inside.
