Art of the title 3
The final intro I'm going to talk about is Dexter. Dexter is a crime drama produced by Showtime about a serial killer. The intro is very interesting as it really just goes through the morning of Dexter. It's mainly about him eating breakfast and waking up. However, due to the way it's shot it seems like he's murdering someone, when really it's just him cutting up an orange or making coffee. The music also displays that it's somewhat odd to think of a serial killer doing something that normal people would do. It never shows him murdering someone and it looks like he's quite ordinary.
man. However, due to the way its show, the audience knows there's something not quite right with Dexter.
It does use extreme close ups and imagery of blood. When he's cutting the fried egg, the "juice" almost looks like blood and he's cutting up someone, just like how he does it in the show. The opening shot establishes blood as he kills a mosquito. The title then comes up with blood coming out indicating the character's fascination with blood.
