Research Distribution: Pride

Pride is a British film about the issues that many homosexuals faced in the 1980s. The movie was first screened at the Cannes film festival which allows for distributors to "pick up" an movie if they like it or not. Due to positive buzz at places such as Cannes, the French production company Pathe picked up the movie for distribution. The movie can be described as a national film due to it dealing with British issues but it is been planned to be released in the USA due to the positive reviews in the UK.
One of the film's lead actors Andrew Scott also helped create publicity telling people to go buy tickets as there is only "one week left". Also, for publicity the starts of Pride and the real LGSM stars marched down Odeon in order to help create press for the movie.

The film website is a major vehicle for addressing and attracting audiences. On the website there are clips from the movie which can be seen using "gifs”. As well as that, there is also a link to the film’s twitter page, allowing for people to follow them on Twitter to find out about certain information without them having to come back to the official site. There’s a also a link to the film’s trailer allowing for people to see footage from the movie to see whether it would be their sort of genre or not. It also has links to reviews which would help the film’s publicity due to the positive press that the film has received. Here is a link to the website of the movie http://www.pridemovie.co.uk/

  1. Go back to this and start the section on the film website again, as nowhere do you mention the website. Plan your writing. Every paragraph should have a topic sentence ('The film website is a major vehicle for addressing and attracting audiences.") Then expand the topic sentence with examples ("On the website there are...."). Then explain how audiences are engaged by each tactic.
Present your account using more paragraphs /bullet points /images ' coloured font to illustrate.
