RESEARCH

PINTEREST-  This enabled to collect together a series of image for the mis-en scene, props and lighting for our 1950s office set. Many of the images come from movies from the 1950s such as the Big Sleep as well as  from more modern movies such as Chinatown and Shutter Island. This was essential in planning on how to direct our movies as we had to create a very authentic, period feel in our movie despite the many limitations we had in doing this. We constructed out characters using pictures of Philip Marlowe, Jake Gittes and Leonardo Dicaprio in Shutter Island. It allowed us to create a very large image bank over time. https://uk.pinterest.com/olliemacnaughto/social-groups-for-our-film-opening/

SLIDESHARE We used this for the Hunger Games distribution research. It was an easy and efficient way on understanding the distribution for the movie. It helped us give ideas for how we were going to distribute for our own movie as well. http://www.slideshare.net/olliemac678/hunger-games-mockingjay-part-1

ONLINE MAGAZINE media magazine was useful in helping us learn about the film industry. The article we specifically read was an article on the distribution of the Hunger Games, that allowed us to understand how that particular film was shown to the public.

BLOGGER This was the main tool for my research. It's a host for where my new technologies would be placed as well as where all my hyperlinks for other websites would go.

ART OF THE TITLE- This was a very helpful tool in helping us in our research for the Title Sequence for the movie. I did analysis on title sequences on TV shows to give us inspiration on how we would do our title sequence. http://www.artofthetitle.com/title/true-detective/

GOOGLE-  Google is perhaps one of the most useful in helping us plan as you can type in anything and a website will appear. As a result, we found a number of our New Technologies with the search engine.
VIMEO- A video sharing website that has many interesting tutorials on film making. It was specifically useful for framing shots such as one they had on Drive as well as one on SFX and sound editing.
NETFLIX-  We used this to watch movies that helped give us creative inspiration for our film opening. It's a streaming site and many of the movies that inspired us e.g. Shutter Island were on the streaming site.
XBOX ONE- A video gaming/media console that allowed for me to watch Blu Ray movies that inspired me as well as having a Netflix app on it as well, allowing for me to watch all of these movies on the streaming site through the console.

PIKTOCHART We used Piktochart for our audience research. This was to help us to give us an idea of what types of audiences will go see our movie.

PLANNING

YOUTUBE Used this in order to put our movie opening as well as our practice shoots, preliminary ident  and practice shoots on so that everyone can see the opening.

GOOGLE DOCS- We needed to adopt a collaborative way of thinking when devising the script, treatment, shot lists and other planning tools. Google Docs is a platform  that helped us plan our movie opening,  We wrote a movie script and call sheet as well so anyone in our group could edit it. It used collaborative editing so that our whole group could use it at any one time. We also used it to help us with the location recce as we put many of our images onto it so our whole group could use it. We also used it plan each of our individual scenes and what props we were going to use in each particular  scene https://docs.google.com/document/d/1RBbJKRwBc64RXMkQPvnJRj04HHXO5i2lDqDeeScTfVQ/edit#heading=h.5x6dnklt7wv5

BLOGGER- Used this to keep a track of our planning throughout the year and allows for other students and teachers to interact with the ideas we had planned.

TRELLO- Helped us to give us an up to date list of everything we needed to do.

TWITTER- helped me to find out what a lot of the upcoming films were. It's an extremely useful way of getting information. I followed people such as Pete Fraser, the chief examiner and Henry Jenkins. I also followed certain production companies like Warner Bros and Paramount to tell me about these ideas.

ANIMOTO - I created a film a construction with Animoto using one of the practice shoots for the stairwell scene. It helped me provide a more streamlined way of showing our practice shoots along with Youtube. https://animoto.com/play/76eTZCqxscI0L5RmBU34yA

PICMONKEY- I created a collage of pictures from my location recee using this tool in order to create a slicker way of showing off the recee, rather than just simply putting the images on Blogger.

CONSTRUCTION-

DIGITAL CAMERA

FACEBOOK Used this in order for us to organize shoots of when the cast and crew was going to be available. Also, used it as a way to advertise our movie by creating a page for our movie.

ADOBE PHOTOSHOP- Used this to create a logo for our title as well as to create a fake website for the movie

GO PRO-  a type of camera that is used for mainly capturing extreme sports. Used it for a scene that needed to be filmed from a first person perspective.

Used a HUE WEBCAM for a production company ident
DIGITAL CAMERA CANON D550-  Used this to film the opening as it was the most effective camera for getting the job done due to its crisp quality.
IMOVIE-  the software that we used to edit the movie. We put all the footage on as it was easy to due to it being free with Apple Laptops. It also had many different effects so we could make the film black and white for certain scenes for the opening.

EVALUATION

MOBILE PHONE CAMERA- Took pictures on it in order to show how our individual planning went.

SNAPCHAT- Used this as a slick and fun way of how I constructed some of the scenes to my movies. I added text as well to many of these pictures in order to show how we actually did it.

FACEBOOK- Could use feedback about the film using our Facebook page

BLOGGER- Helped us talk about the difficulties that we faced during production of the movie.
